Maker: Jurnal Manajemen is a media publication of scientific articles that contains the results of management research using an interdisciplinary perspective, especially in Modern Management studies and related teaching resources.

Peer Review Process

Some policies in the review of Maker: Jurnal Manajemen :

  1. The reviewers will review the submitted article that follow the guidelines and template of the journal provided.
  2. The review process in this journal employs a double-blind peer-review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa.
  3. In the review process, the article will be reviewed by at least two reviewers to ensure the quality of the article.
  4. In the review process, the reviewers ensure the quality of the articles of its title, abstract, discussion and conclusion. Besides, the reviewers also address the novelty and its contribution to the scientific discussion and verify the plagiarism and ethics of publication.
  5. The reviewer also provide feedback on whether the article is accepted, rejected or need minor or major revision.

Peer review of referred papers:

Editors of the Maker journal will decide promptly whether to accept, reject or request revisions of referred papers based on the reviews and editorial insight of the supporting journals. Also, Editors will have the option of seeking additional reviews when needed. The authors will be advised when Editors decide, further review is required. Submitted articles will be first review by the editor for the topic and writing style according to the guidelines. All manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer-review, both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process to meet standards of academic excellence. In short, the steps are:

  1. Manuscript Submission (by author).
  2. Manuscript Check and Selection (by manager and editors). 
  3. Editors have a right to directly accept, reject, or review. Prior to further processing steps, plagiarism check using Turnitin is applied for each manuscript.
  4. Manuscript Reviewing Process (by reviewers).
  5. Notification of Manuscript Acceptance, Revision, or Rejection (by editor to author based on reviewers comments).
  6. Paper Revision (by author)
  7. Revision Submission based on Reviewer Suggestion (by author) with the similar flow to point number 1.
  8. If the reviewer seems to be satisfied with revision, notification for acceptance (by editor).
  9. Galley proof and publishing process.

The steps point number 1 to 5 are considered as 1 round of the peer-reviewing process (see the grey area in the figure). The editor or editorial board considers the feedback provided by the peer reviewers and arrives at a decision. The following are the most common decisions:

  1. Accepted, as it is. The journal will publish the paper in its original form;
  2. Accepted by Minor Revisions, the journal will publish the paper and asks the author to make small corrections (let authors revised with stipulated time);
  3. Accepted by Major Revisions, the journal will publish the paper provided the authors make the changes suggested by the reviewers and/or editors (let authors revised with stipulated time);
  4. Resubmit (conditional rejection), the journal is willing to reconsider the paper in another round of decision making after the authors make major changes;
  5. Rejected (outright rejection), the journal will not publish the paper or reconsider it even if the authors make major revisions.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

This journal is open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to users or / institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to full text articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in accordance with Budapest Open Access Initiative.

Journal History

  1. Maker: Journal of Management was first published in Vol. 1, No. 1 June 2015 Edition, this scientific journal is now published online and publishes articles or scientific works resulting from research in the field of management science at the STIE Sultan Agung Management Study Program. The publication schedule for this journal is twice a year in June and December.
  2. Changing the Journal Template for Volume 5 Number 2 December 2019.
  3. Maker: Management Journal changed its editorial composition on August 1 2019 with Decree Number: 7124/STIE/SA/VIII/2019 with a management period of 2 (two) years from the date this decision was made.
  4. Maker: Management Journal appointed an External Reviewer (Mitra Bestari) on February 17 2020 with Decree Number: 7983/STIE/SA/II/2020 with a validity period of until December 31 2021.
  5. Maker: Management Journal has been accredited based on the results of Scientific Journal Accreditation Period III 2020 and the publication of the Decree of the Minister of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency Number 200/M/KPT/2020, dated 23 December 2020. The accreditation is Rank-4 starting Volume 2 Number 2 of 2018.
  6. Based on the Decree of the Chairman of the Sultan Agung College of Economics Number 1217/STIE/SA/IX/2021 dated 06 September 2021, Maker: Journal of Management changed the composition of the Editorial Board with a management period of 2 (two) years.
  7. The renewal of the Bestari Partners Council (Peer-Reviewers) was carried out to replace the previously expired management period and add to the team of external journal editors so that the Decree of the Head of the Sultan Agung College of Economics Number 2325.02/STIE/SA/II/2022, dated February 26 2022, was established About the Appointment of Editors and External Reviewers Maker: Management Journal.
  8. Maker: Journal of Management has been reaccredited to move up from Rank 4 to Rank 3 from Volume 8 Number 1 of 2022 to Volume 12 Number 2 of 2026 based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology Republic of Indonesia Number 225/E/KPT/2022 dated 7 December 2022 concerning the Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals for Period III 2022.
  9. Changing the Journal Template for Volume 9 Number 1 June 2023.
  10. The renewal of the Bestari Partners Board (Reviewers Board) and the Editorial Team was carried out to replace the management period that had expired previously and to add to the external journal editorial team so that the Decree of the Head of the Sultan Agung College of Economics Number: 4950/STIE/SA/III was established. /2023, March 11 2023 About the Editorial Composition of Maker: Journal of Management, STIE Sultan Agung Pematang Siantar Management Study Program.
